Buddie was born April 29, 1924 in Stillwell, Oklahoma to Arthur and Gertrude Petrey. Buddie and his twin were the first of 7 children born to this couple. He also had 4 half-siblings. He passed away October 19, 2017 (age 93) in Antioch, California. Buddie served in the army during WWII. He worked for Standard Oil/Chevron for over 33 years, from 1952 until his retirement in 1986. He lived in Taft from 1952 until 2015. He and Kathleen raised their 9 children in Taft. He is preceded in death by his wife. F Kathleen Petrey; son, Dwayne P Petrey; son, Thomas L Petrey, and daughter, Paulette J Maxwell; his parents, Arthur Petrey and Gertrude Holderby Petrey; and brothers, Cy Jones, Huey Jones, Bud Jones, Art Petrey; sisters, Marie Young (his twin), and Gella Vick. He is survived by his daughters; Linda Anderson of Antioch, CA, Kathleen Marshall of Oakhurst, CA, Carolyn Brecht of Redwood City, CA, and Mary Beth Weaver of South Berwick, Maine and their husbands, sons; Daryl Petrey of Ellensburg, Washington, and Daniel Petrey of Bakersfield and their wives; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, his brothers; Kenneth & Vernon Petrey, his sisters; Clara Gee and Vernie Rylee.
