Bruce Wayne Calicott, 63, of Madison, Missouri passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019.  He was born on May 23, 1955, in Moberly, the second of three children born to William Franklin “Bill” and Shirley (McMorris) Calicott.

He is survived by his son, Chad Alan Calicott of Moberly, a sister, Yvonne (Calicott) Cooper of Chesterfield, a brother, Tim Calicott and his wife Donna of Bowling Green, nephews, Jeff Cooper and James Cooper, nieces Nicole Taylor and her husband Tony and Ashly Provorse, great-nephews; Jacob Kamrowski and wife Kelli, Josh April and Collin Provorse,  aunt, Wilma (McMorris) Ashworth, uncles, Curtis McMorris and Wilbur Calicott, numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

As a young child, Bruce lived in a number of states before settling in Clarksville, Missouri, where he graduated from Clopton High School in 1974.  Growing up, Bruce enjoyed playing baseball, track, and basketball.  After graduating, Bruce worked several years in the family garment business in Pike County.  In 1990, he moved to Moberly, where he worked in a supervisory role for several businesses in the area.

Bruce was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed spending time catching up with friends and family while hunting and fishing in Missouri’s woodlands.  He excelled at bowling, winning a number of championships and gentleman’s bets.  But his proudest moment was seeing his son Chad roll a perfect game as a teenager.

A quiet man, Bruce was very thoughtful and humorous.  In conversation, he generally preferred to listen.  But if you had a question, he probably had a wisecrack as an answer.  Bruce was an endlessly compassionate man who found great joy in caring for his grandmother, Ruby Calicott, as well as his mother, in their later years.
