Bruce R. McCauley, 64, passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2021.
Bruce was born on December 1, 1956, in Des Moines to parents, Robert and Catherine McCauley. He graduated from Dowling High School in 1975. He met the love of his life, Lori L. Aunan, while working at Dahl’s and, on March 15, 1986, they were united in marriage. They made their home in Urbandale, where they raised their two sons, Ryan and Trevor.
Bruce was a devoted employee for Dahl’s foods for 25 plus years. After his time at Dahl’s, he served as a territory manager in electronic sales. Because of his smile and outgoing personality, he never met a stranger and was always willing to help others.
Bruce enjoyed all sports, and was heavily involved with his son’s sports activities. He loved being outdoors which included: hunting, fishing, and taking his dogs swimming. His greatest joy of all was spending time with his family.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Lori; sons, Ryan (Hilary) McCauley and Trevor McCauley (fiancé, Brittney); grandchildren, Cade and Cole McCauley; siblings, Diane (Kenn) Spahr, Tom McCauley, Brian McCauley, and Kevin (Cindy) McCauley; as well as several nieces and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents.
