Bruce F. Sewalt, 96, of 2160 Warrensville Road, Montoursville and formerly of the 800 block of Cemetery Street, died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Valley View Nursing Center.
Bruce and his wife, the former Grace A. Duvall, observed their 68th wedding anniversary on March 28, 2010.
Bruce was a member of the First United Methodist Church, New Hope Campus and a 1932 graduate of the Jersey Shore High School. He enjoyed square dancing, was an avid gardener and an active sportsman.
Bruce worked for the war effort as a machine tool operator at Bendix Aviation. He then worked for Stroehmans, the former Avco, and retired from the former Williamsport Fabricators and Geiger Brothers in 1978.
Born April 7, 1914 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of John M. and Hattie J. Fry Sewalt Sr.
Surviving in addition to his wife of Montoursville are son, Richard L. (Mikky) Sewalt of Dover; daughter, Gail L. (Neal) Sewalt Vreeland of Poultoney, VT; three grandchildren, two step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
