Bruce Edward Taylor, 63, of McKinney, Texas and formerly of Elkhart, passed on the evening of Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Medical City McKinney, McKinney, TX. Bruce was born on October 29, 1958 in Elkhart to the union of Roosevelt Wilson and Louise (Calhoun) Taylor. Bruce graduated in 1978 from Elkhart Memorial High School and continued his studies in telecommunications and sales.

Bruce always wanted to be a basketball coach, and had a great love of sports, especially basketball and football. He would always tell the children to stay positive about life and choices you make.

Bruce married Beverly Holliday on May 23, 1992 in Dallas, Texas. She survives, as well as three children, Tamesha Trinee, Diaran and Daryl; three grandchildren; Rachel, Dalila, Luca and a special nephew Paul Taylor Jr. Also surviving are five sisters, Teri Taylor, Betty Jordan, Tina Ramsey, Elder Callie Harris, and Elder Doris Ramsey: two brothers, Paul (Clara) Taylor Sr., Robert Taylor. In addition to his parents, a sister Tomsine Howard Hayden and brothers Otis Wilson and John Earl Wilson preceded him in death.

Bruce retired from Dick’s Sporting Goods in 2021. He also owned his own small Daiquiri Business from 2018 until his illness forced him to retire in August of 2021.
