Bruce E. Walker, aged 84, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2022 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Bruce was born in Cleveland, Ohio, son of James and Eleanor Walker, and resided in the New Haven area for over 40 years. Bruce graduated from Kent State University and later obtained a teaching degree from Antioch University. Bruce dedicated over thirty years of his life to Wightwood School in Branford, where he was a beloved teacher who touched the lives of hundreds of children.
He is survived by his son Jonathan Walker and Jon’s wife Hope Davis of Brooklyn, his daughter Emily Dove Haygood and her husband Ryan of Fort Worth, his son Richard Dove and his wife Aubry of Milford, CT. Bruce is also survived by his siblings Douglas, Kathleen and Bonnie Walker; and his grandchildren, Georgie, Mae-Mae, Andrew, Ella, Owen, Josie and Nora. A memorial celebrating Bruce’s wonderful life is being planned for later this year. He will be greatly missed.
