Bruce Douglas Cawthorne died July 18, 2013 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born January 9, 1949 in Chattanooga, TN. Graduated from Lakeview High School in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia in 1967. Attended the University of Chattanooga where he majored in Business. Bruce served his country proudly in the Air Force from 1970 to 1977 where he was a aerial re-fueling specialist on a RC 135 servicing fighter jets and bombers during the Vietnam War. In 1977 he joined the Moccasin Bend Golf Course staff as a PGA Golf Pro. From there he moved to St. Louis to join the golf pro staff at Westwood Country Club. He joined the Ben Hogan sales staff in 1983. He also owned Chattanooga golf shops in Chattanooga, TN. In 2004 he obtained his Florida real estate license and went to work for a large real estate developer in Central Florida. Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Earl Cawthorne, Jr. and his mother Martha Shepard Cawthorne Rhea He is survived by his wife, Malinda McDaniel Cawthorne; daughter, Elizabeth Patty Cherry; son-in-law, James Gregory Cherry; twin granddaughters, Annabelle Kate and Emmaline Grace Cherry all of Cumming, GA; sisters, Lynne Cawthorne of Chickamauga, GA; Cindy (Sam) Cawthorne Payne; niece, Ellyn Payne of Rossville, GA.
