Bruce Gene Carroll
SALISBURY – Bruce Gene Carroll went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 15, 2007 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Center in Winston-Salem.
He was born October 23, 1949 in Boiling Springs, NC to Louise and Forrest Carroll. He had been in declining health for three years but critical for the last three weeks.
He was employed by Billings Freight System in Lexington until he became disabled in 2004. Before working with Billings Freight he worked for Gaines Trucking in Hickory.
He loved being a truck driver; go-kart racing, and NASCAR racing. He loved preaching to others about God and he loved helping others.
He attended Fairview Baptist Church, Hickory, Trinity Baptist Church, Mooresboro and Shiloh Reformed Church in Faith. He attended Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute in Hendersonville.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Sue Horton Eudy Carroll of Salisbury, son Tony Brian Carroll (Sherry) of Arden, stepdaughter Alice LeAnne Eudy of Salisbury, grandson LeLand Jackson Carroll of Arden, sister Nancy Carroll Dellinger (Cline) of Lawndale, nephews Jarrett Carroll of Charlotte, Jamie Carroll of Mooresboro, Troy Dellinger of Raleigh, and niece Casey Dellinger of Lawndale.
Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his father Forrest Lewis Carroll and his mother Louise Henson Carroll, also son Chuck Glenn Carroll and brothers Joel Carroll and Robin Carroll.
Over the last five years, he found a place in his heart for Sierra Howard of Kentucky, Timothy Howard of Kentucky and Shane Newsome of Salisbury, and considered them a part of his family.
