Northbridge–Bruce A. Simmons, 60, died Friday, June 30, in the Milford Regional Medical Center. He leaves his wife of 43 years, Jane (Lachapelle) Simmons and their three daughters; Tara Edwards and her husband Teddie, of Webster, Tracey Simmons of Framingham, and Lindsey Simmons, of Northbridge; three brothers; David Simmons and his wife Nancy, of Harwich, Ken Simmons and his wife Anne, of Petersham, Gary Simmons and his wife Beth, of Douglas; a sister Pam French and her husband Gary, of Berlin; and six grandchildren; Aubrey, Logan, Jillian, Rylie, Zoey and Kian.
Bruce was born August 28, 1956 in Northbridge, a son of the late Leon and Carolyn (Bakker) Simmons. He grew up in Rockdale and graduated in 1974 from Northbridge High School. Bruce was a self employed carpenter for many years prior to working in the maintenance department for the Northbridge School system for 13 years and most recently at Gaudette Insurance. Bruce was a huge Red Sox fan. He will be remembered as a “big kid” who loved his family.
