Bronislawa Kozlowski of Wethersfield, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at home in her daughter’s arms on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Bronia was born in Poland. She was the daughter of the late Aleksander and Helena Tutas. Bronia, and her family were exiled to labor camps in Siberia (via Persia, and Uzbekistan) under the Russian occupation during World War II. She immigrated to Africa where she met Tadeusz Kozlowski. They traveled to England where they were married and then immigrated to the United States. They settled first in East Hartford and then in Hartford. She was employed by the Royal, Hartford Tool and Die Company and later retired from Colt’s Firearms in West Hartford. She enjoyed working in the garden, playing cards and watching her favorite programs, “Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune”. She was a wonderful cook making the best Polish foods. She cherished family times and enjoyed hosting traditional Polish holiday celebrations. She cherished her grandchildren and great children who brought her much pride and joy. Bronia was devoted to her faith. She was a member of the SS Cyril and Methodius Rosary Society, the Ladies Guild, Golden Seniors and Br. Albert Society. Her humble acts of kindness and volunteer work helped those in need. She was also a member of the Polish Legion of Veterans Post #119. She was predeceased by her husband, Tadeusz, parents, sister, Genofewa Coetzer, brothers, Mieczyslaw, Kazimierz and Antoni Tutas and beloved son in law, Peter Krusiewicz. Bronia will forever live on in the heart of her daughter Diane Krusiewicz with whom she made her home. She also leaves her grandchildren, Eric Krusiewicz, Ryan and Colleen Krusiewicz and Andrea and Frank Bosco and her six great-grandchildren, Dylan and Nicholas Krusiewicz, Teegan and Rylan Krusiewicz and Isabella and Amanda Bosco. She also will be missed by her dear cousin Jadzia Szymanski and loving friend Joanne Visco. Bronia was a giving and loving woman whose legacy of hard work, determination, perseverance, generosity and kindness will live on through her family and everyone else who was blessed to know her and call her Babci.
