Broni M. Friedland, age 97 of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Herman Friedland, passed away peacefully Saturday June 20, 2015 at Shady Knolls in Seymour two days shy of her 98th birthday.
Born in New York City, the daughter of the late Stanley and Frances Obuszynski, she lived in Stratford prior to moving to Fairfield in 1944. A dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Friedland also enjoyed performing part-time marketing research. She loved competitive activities throughout her life.
She was an avid bowler, bowling in two leagues late into her 80’s, loved to play scrabble and pinochle and was an accomplished swimmer and excelled in the side stroke. She and her husband enjoyed going on cruises and dancing together. Mrs. Friedland loved animals of all kinds, especially her beloved cats, and she proudly rescued many animals throughout her life.
