Bridget Shaunbrielle Mayes was born February 5, 1987, in Decatur, Alabama to Percy Lee Mayes and Joyce Dianne Mayes. She departed this life May 28, 2012 in Hartselle, Alabama
She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at El Shaddai Church, formerly Springhill M.B. Church, under Pastor John Z. Gray. She was a faithful member of El Shaddai Ministries where she served in the choir and was a Children’s Church Teacher. Bridget was a graduate of West Morgan High School Class of 2007. She later began a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and was a loving caregiver.
Bridgette was such a warm, loving, and affectionate person. She never met a stranger. Everyone who met her remembered and loved her. She had a way of making everyone feel welcomed. She was cheerful and caring. She was always helping somebody. She would give anything she had and was the life of the party. She was funny, happy and had a heart of gold. She had a way of making you feel better in the worst of times. She was a laid back person. She was great with children. She was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend. She loved God, family, church family and friends. Bridgette’s eyes would always light up when she saw someone she genuinely cared for. Bridget really impacted her community and she will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by four grandparents: Steve and Mollie Henderson, Jr., Leslie and Annie Mayes.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Neleigh Renae Monique Mayes of Decatur; a father, Percy Lee Mayes of Courtland; mother, Joyce Diane Mayes Decatur; one sister, Feloney Mayes of Decatur, AL ; two brothers, Torrey and Tim Mayes of Courtland and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends..
