Bridget A. “Betty” O’Keefe, 98, of Bethlehem passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Francis J. O’Keefe who passed away in 1991. Born in Cape Broyle, Newfoundland, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (Oldridge) Coady.
Betty was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her family, and her furry friends Chase and Marco. Betty was a parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church in Bethlehem for over 40 years where she was a member of the Sodality. Before getting married, Betty was a telephone operator in Brooklyn, NY. She was an avid golfer winning several tournaments at Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course and loved to play bridge and pinochle in various card clubs.
Her favorite pastime was her love of reading. Survivors: Devoted mother of Francis Ronald O’Keefe (Pamelinda), Michael Gregory O’Keefe, Patricia Ann (O’Keefe) Tallarico (Michael), and Marie Catherine O’Keefe. Beloved grandmother of Jason (Christine) and Bridget Sell, Patrick Tallarico, Jennifer Lasso, Michael (Fatima Frank) O’Keefe, Lindsay (O’Keefe) Albert (Scott), Thomas and Kimberly O’Keefe, Owen and Egan O’Keefe and Garrett Denny.
Beloved great grandmother of Jacob, Connor, Caleb & Ayden Albert, Rose and Frank Lasso, and Tyler, Jaxon and Kavan Sell. She was preceded in death by infant twin daughters Margaret and Mary and granddaughter Coady Marie Sell in 2013 and her siblings Mary (Schultheis), James, Catherine (Manfre), Margaret (O’Brien), John, Joseph, Charles, Michael, William, Elizabeth, Thomas and Frank Coady.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their extended families.
