Dr. Brian “Doc” Jefferson, 72, of Tyrone, GA passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Hospice Atlanta. He was born August 2, 1941, in Wareham, Massachusetts to the late George Jefferson & Avis Rider Jefferson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Raymond Jefferson. Brian grew up and graduated from high school in Wareham, MA. His love of sailing and boating began as a young man spending time in the waters off Cape Cod. Brian spent several years serving his country in the Coast Guard. He received his Master’s & Doctorate Degrees in Art from Pennsylvania State University. He was a Fulbright Scholar and an Art Professor at Georgia State University in Atlanta. His love of art, quick wit, and whimsical spirit touched the lives of many of his students. His love of family and friends was always evident in all his endeavors. Brian was active in the lives of his two daughters, always present for the activities whether serving as president of the PTA or going on Girl Scout Camping Trips. He derived a tremendous amount of joy from watching his grandsons play soccer.
