CHESHIRE – Brian David McKee died at home on May 11, 2011 following a long and courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife and four daughters by his side. Brian was born on April 6, 1947 in Island Falls, Maine and later moved to Connecticut where he married, had children, and a granddaughter. Brian loved the outdoors, hunting, and driving his tractor. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he received several decorations. Prior to his retirement he worked for Smith Transportation of Wallingford and Mallory Industries of Farmington.
Brian is survived by his wife Sherry, his daughters and their spouses: Danielle McKee and Scott Thorn, Ashley McKee, Kristin (McKee) Souza and Josh Souza, and Heather (McKee) Stairs; his sister Darlene; and brother Kenny. He also leaves behind “his little imp” Mikayla Souza, his “pet niece” Teresia and her husband “Chief” Gary, his good friends Paul, Skip, and Jeff; sister-in-law Lisa and her husband Alan Jones, and his “good boy” Jynx, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, David and Velma (Morrison) McKee.
