Brian Justin Murphy, 68, of St. Libory, IL, beloved son of Geraldine and Wayne Murphy, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2020 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL from respiratory failure secondary to COVID-19.
Brian graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla and was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity there. He was employed for over 23 years at Peabody Coal as a coal mining supervisor.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Murphy.
Surviving are his mother, Geraldine Murphy nee Hummel; daughter, Ashley Bealka; sister, Ann Murphy; brother, Robin (Sandy) Murphy; nieces, Amanda (Matt) Mann, Claudia (Jason) Andre´, and Elinor Murphy; and many friends in Illinois and fraternity brothers and sisters whose support and prayers have been so appreciated by the family.
