Brian Gale Brady, 86, of Middletown, husband of the late Cecile (Godbout) Brady, passed away on January 9, 2019 at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Woodsville, NH, he was the son of the late Rupert and Geneva (Lane) Brady.
Brian lived and worked in Middletown for most of his life. He graduated Woodrow Wilson High School in 1952 where he was a member of the varsity football and track teams. He served in the U.S Army following high school. After 37 years, he retired as a Central Office Technician from SNET where he was fondly known by his co-workers as “Riverboat”. He then worked for Jackson Chevrolet for 13 years.
Brian enjoyed outdoor activities such as boating, biking and skiing and was always willing to try new things like rollerblading. He skied nearly every mountain in the Northeast and Whistler Blackcomb, BC and Park City, UT. He was particularly proud that he was still skiing at the age of 80.
Brian loved to socialize and spend time with family and friends. He was quite the character with a great sense of humor. He would talk to anyone (at length!) and was always willing to lend a hand.
Brian is survived by his two daughters, Kathleen M. Brady Jackson and her husband Christian of Stow, MA and Laurielee G. Brady of Middletown; a sister, Constance Regan of Glastonbury; two grandchildren, Harper and Brady (named after his grandfather) Jackson; brother-in-law, Marc Godbout and his wife, Shirl of Middletown; five sisters-in-law, Claudette Lafontaine and her husband Paul of Southampton, MA, Lucille Kiburtz and her husband Bob of Saint Petersburg, FL, Pauline Godbout of Middletown, Rita Soule of Merrimack, NH and Kathy Godbout of Weymouth, MA and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, Brian was predeceased by his brother, R. Sheldon Brady and brothers-in-law, William Regan, Lionel Godbout, Henry Godbout and David Soule and sister-in-law, Marielle Willette.
