Brett Michael Lazarick was born in Warrington, England on December 3, 1958, to an American father (Joseph James Lazarick) and an English mother (Jill McCue Lazarick). Since Brett’s dad was in the USAF, the family moved regularly during Brett’s early years, and he lived in England, California, and South Carolina. With two assignments to England, Brett had the opportunity to get to know his English family and was especially close to his grandparents during this time. In 1974, the family settled in Boulder, Colorado, where Brett completed high school. He then attended college at the School of Mines in Durango, Colorado where he studied water treatment management. Brett’s adult travels included two “seasons” working on the Northern Slope in Alaska, and much of his work life (as a water treatment manager) in Hawaii. He spent the final several years of his life in Alaska, mostly in the Anchorage area.

Brett is survived by two sons, Justin Lazarick and Zachary Lazarick (with whom he enjoyed surfing during the Hawaii years), two grandchildren, a sister Christine Bloch, a niece Ella Bloch, an aunt Jane McCue Johnson, and an uncle David McCue. He died on March 16, 2021, in an Anchorage hospital following an extended illness. His son Justin was by his side. You will be greatly missed, Brett. We will see you on the other side.
