Brennan (“Brennie”, “B”, or “Brenn”) Ann Swanberg, 47, of Great Falls, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at her residence.
Brennan was born March 27, 1969 to Patty Jo and Gorham Swanberg in Great Falls, Montana. Brennan spent her childhood in Great Falls. She graduated from Great Falls High in 1987, and continued her education at Santa Clara University, where she received a scholarship to play basketball and where she earned a degree in Sociology.
In 1997, Brennan spent six weeks in Europe with a very dear friend, Julie “McIntyre” Pachek, a trip which she often referred to as a “Badge of Honor.”
After college, Brennan worked for the State of Montana as a Social Worker for 13 years, based in Havre and Great Falls. In 2004, she decided to make a career change and opened Tuffy’s Sunset Inn, in Sun Prairie.
Brennan was a founding board member for WABC, Women Against Breast Cancer, in 1998, of Cascade County. She was an avid golfer. She never missed an opportunity to support the charity she was very passionate about by playing in several golf tournaments, and by having several benefits at Tuffy’s- including an annual “Bikers Bash.”
Brennan was a coach for the Great Falls High girls’ basketball team from 1998-2008. She was very sports minded, and never missed an opportunity to discuss basketball, football, baseball, or golf and enjoyed sharing her knowledge of all of them.
Brennan being a dedicated fan, traveled to nineteen concerts to see her favorite musician, Neil Diamond.
Brennan is survived by a very dear and true friend, Dick Zadick, whom she truly loved. In addition, her mother, Patty Jo Swanberg; her sisters, Kristen (Rob) Jacobsen and Karen Swanberg; as well as nephew, Ethan and niece, Lindsay, of whom she was very proud. She is also survived by her many Ya-Ya’s and Yo-Yo’s, as she often called her many friends.
Brennan is preceded in death by her father, Gorham Swanberg.
