Brenda Benjamin, 81, of Keyport, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey. She was born Brenda Thompson on December 28, 1939 in Long Branch, New Jersey. She grew up in Keyport, New Jersey, as well as New York City and in 1987, she settled in the Bayshore Area. Before her retirement in 2005, Brenda worked as an Administrator at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New York for many years. Most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother. Brenda was also a faithful member of the Second Baptist Church of Keyport, New Jersey.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Ethel (Banks) Thompson. Brenda is survived by her loving sons, Patrick Benjamin, III of California, and Alan Benjamin of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, her cherished grandchildren, Alexis and Fallon Benjamin, and 4 Great-grandchildren from California. Brenda is also survived by her friends from Keyport, New Jersey and Bronx, New York and her special friend, Millie Allen. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
