Brenda Sue Thomas, age 68, passed away on March 13, 2021. She is survived by her husband, Stephen, and her daughters Rissa, Tegan, and Kira, as well as her two sisters, Barbara and Mary Lee, and her brother, Ronnie. Though originally born in southern Indiana, Brenda had lived in a variety of places, Colorado being merely the last.
No matter where Brenda went though, she made friends with everyone to the best of her ability. She was always talkative, bright, and friendly — ready to help you with whatever issue you might need, if asked.
She took in her children’s friends as if her own without a second thought, and dreamed of a house big enough that she could protect all that needed it. No matter who it was, she always endorsed people calling her ‘mom’ because that’s what she was, through and through — a mom.
Her biggest passions lay in crafts — sewing, crocheting, etc — which helped immensely during her years as a preschool teacher. Some people will forever know her as Miss Brenda, which never failed to make her smile. She was also incredibly into playing Pokemon Go, and was always proud of her collection and her handle “greyoldlady”.
Faith was always important to Brenda, who never failed to demonstrate what a true Christian should be. She always tried to believe in the best of people, and refused to hate anyone, even if she severely disagreed with everything they stood for. She was the paramount of an example of what it looked like to hold your faith close on an individual scale.
Brenda passed on and joined her parents, Theresa and Lee, her aunt, Emma, and one of her daughters, Melina. She will forever be loved and missed by everyone who knew her.
