Brenda Mae Peal, age 68, of Monon, IN, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015, at the IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello, IN. Brenda was born on September 6, 1947, in Charleston, WV, the daughter of Otho and Ersa Mae (Bailey) Barnett.
Brenda was blessed by having James & Francis Woodyard in her life by taking care of and raising her. Brenda was a 1966 graduate of the St. Albins High School in West Virginia. On January 12, 1967, in St. Albins, Brenda married William “Jennings” Peal. Brenda and Jennings were married for 47 years and with that union came two sons. She worked as a secretary in real estate and was a member of the DeMotte First Church of the Nazarene. Brenda loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren. She loved her dogs and she never met a stranger.
Brenda leaves behind her loving husband, William “Jennings” Peal; two sons, Robert Jennings (Wendy) of Crown Point and William Joseph (Liz) Peal of Wheatfield, IN; grandchildren, Kyler, Trevor, Jocelyn, and Nicole; several nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Sharon Hickman; brothers, Arthur Barnett of WV and Michael Barnett of OH; foreign exchange students, Johanna Ahs of Sweden, Camilla Thompson, Australia and Ana Paula Soares of Brazil.
