Mrs. Brenda LaVerne Smith, 64, of 837 Willow Place, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at High Point Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
Brenda was born on December 21, 1946 to Margaret Bogans Smith and Ralph Smith in Guilford County. She was a 1965 graduate of William Penn High School and attended Washington Business College. She was formerly employed with the United States Department of Labor. Coming from Landover, MD, she has been a High Point resident for over five years.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her mother and spouse, Samuel Smith.
Surviving relatives include a son, Michael (Leslie) Smith of Germantown, MD; daughter, Tynia (Kevin) Gorham of Upper Marlboro, MD; father, Ralph H. Smith of the home; sister, Gwendolyn Byrd of High Point; six grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
