Brenda Joyce Elms, 62 of Caldwell, gave up the fight with a lifelong illness to be safe in the arms of Jesus.
Brenda was born December 20, 1949 in Fresno, California and moved with her mother Doris Jenkins at an early age. Brenda was raised and educated in Wilder before moving to Caldwell.
In 1966, Brenda married Howard Gilbert and they had a daughter, Shawna. They later divorced. Brenda married David Culbertson and they had a son, David, Jr. They later divorced and she continued to raise her two children to the best of her ability.
Brenda is survived by her two children, Shawna Fisher of Caldwell and David (LeeAnn) Culbertson of Weed, CA; her grandson (whom she raised as her own), Ryan Elms of Emmett; her mother, Doris Jenkins of Caldwell; her brother, Larry (Betty) Myers of Dallas, TX; her sisters, Toni (Charley) Gibson of Caldwell and Diane (Brian) Tyler of Nampa; her aunt, Joyce Kimbrough of Boise; 7 grandchildren from California, Shawn, David, Devan, Oceanna, Luke, Breanna, and Austin, and 3 grandchildren from Idaho, Ryan, Cody and Summer; and her great-grandchildren that she dearly loved. Brenda also leaves behind her beloved little dog, Honey Bun.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Myers; and 2 brothers, Dennis and Basil Marinelli.
