Suddenly, on April 11, 2019, Brenda Joyce Dicus passed surrounded by her loving family. She was 76.
Born Brenda Joyce Anderson to the late John Donald and Virginia Gertrude (nee Herndon), she would spend many years in the Baltimore area. For a time in her teens, she had resided in Fellowsville, West Virginia and returned to Maryland for the balance of her years.
Brenda is the dear wife of Charles “Buck” Leroy Dicus for 57 years and together they built a life in the Glen Burnie area. During her working years, she worked as a Supervisor of Accounting for various large corporations, finally retiring from the Maryland State Department of Education in 2008.
In her free time Brenda enjoyed cooking and baking which naturally developed into a love of cake decorating. For a time she also took up knitting and enjoyed pottery crafts.
Together with her husband, she supported several good will organizations such as Meals On Wheels and St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital as well as sponsoring several children who resided in the Philippines.
Brenda leaves her loving children, Charles “Chuck” L. Dicus, Jr, and his wife Priscilla ( nee Lowrey) and Chris A. Dicus. She is survived by her beloved grandchildren Malina and Joshua Dicus. Her cherished brother, Steve Anderson laments the loss as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews and friends.
