Brenda G. Williams, 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 5, 2021. She was born June 12, 1951 to the late LeeRoy and Lois Beck Williams
Brenda was a faithful member of Gorman Baptist Church. She was a sweet and loving person who loved to laugh and always had a smile on her face even through her illness. She loved her family, friends, and all of her family’s fur babies.
Brenda had a passion for helping others. She volunteered at many organizations throughout the years and participated in walks supporting various cancers affecting her friends and family. She also enjoyed going to the gym, walking in her neighborhood, working in the yard, reading, and taking day trips with her family and friends.
After graduating from Durham High School in 1969, Brenda began her career working at Blue Cross and Blue Shield Medicare Division and remained there for 36 years. She later worked at and retired from Computer Sciences Corporation.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, James Mitchell and his wife Sue.
She is survived by her sisters, Carol Williams and June Ray (Horace); her niece, Angela Perdue (Larry) and nephews, Jay Mitchell (Teresa) and Lee Mitchell (Jessica); great nephews, Brett Perdue and Joshua Mitchell; and great niece Michelle Mitchell Smith.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Wang and Dr. Jia at Duke Cancer Center and also to Duke Hock Family Pavilion for their care and compassion for Brenda during her final days.
