Brenda Jackson Nash entered this life on September 4, 1952 to the late Floyd Jackson Sr. and Irene Whitfield Troupe in Decatur, Alabama. She made the transition to her eternal home on January 12, 2017 in Athens, Alabama.

She attended Decatur City Schools and was a part of the Lakeside High Class of 1970. She was employed and retired from Automatic Screw after 28 years of service. Her spiritual development began at Shiloh M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor M. C. Cosby where she remained under the pastorate of Rev. Edward Owens until her health failed. Brenda served in numerous capacities at Shiloh. She was a member of the Choir, secretary of the Usher ministry and Christian Fellowship. She also instrumental in helping in the Food ministry and Relay for Life.

Brenda was affectionately known as “Bren”. She was loyal to her husband and loved her children, “Pooh and Sherell”. Her home was open to many, and she spent the majority of her life taking care and raising her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time at her sister’s house surrounded by family, playing spades, and talking about the good ole’ days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Billy Jackson, Floyd Jackson, John Rice, and Larry Troupe and three sisters, Doris Hill, Debra Tucker, and Wilma Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 42 years, Congress Ray Nash; one loving son, Terrance “Pooh” Jackson; one devoted daughter, Sherell Rae Nash; one step daughter, Tamela Tabscott; one close granddaughter, Breah Jackson along with 15 step grandchildren; six sisters, Sharon Whitfield, JoAnn Jackson, Veronica Williams, Emily Guzman, Pamela Jackson, and Vivian Powell (Ronnie); five brothers, Ollie Troupe (Vickie), Avery Jackson (Judy), Alvin Jackson (Vicki), Curtis Jackson (Evetta), and Willie Rice (Anita); one sister-in-law, Joyce Stevenson; two brothers-in-law, Oscar Nash and Andre Nash (Sharon); and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
