Brenda E. Crossman, 78 of Narragansett and Bonita Springs, Florida died peacefully with family by her side at the Hope Health Hospice Center on August 22, 2023. She was the loving and cherished wife of Ray Crossman, married for 59 years. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Elsie (Johnson) Johnston. Besides her husband Ray, she is survived by her three children: Russell Crossman and his wife Sue; Kevin Crossman; Karen Araujo and her husband Steven; and her grandchildren: Brian, Kristina, Michael, Jenn the late Jessica and three great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her brother Barry Johnston and his wife Bonnie.
Brenda was a graduate of Cranston East High School, and Katherine Gibbs. She worked as a legal secretary for Kiernan, Connors, Kenyon & Wiley; secretary at CODAC; and finished her career as Office Manager and Treasurer of Crossman Engineering. Brenda was extremely competitive in playing golf and bridge. She was previously a member of Warwick Country Club and Legacy Golf and Tennis Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was an outstanding bocce player and won numerous championships at the Legacy and her present club Valentia Bonita. She was a dedicated volunteer at Ronald McDonald House, local food banks, and supported numerous charities. Brenda was known for hosting wonderful parties, for her infectious laugh, and as an extraordinary cook. Her family and friends were her focus and joy.
