Indianapolis-Brenda D. Giles, 69, passed away Sunday morning, November 13, 2016, at her residence unexpectantly. She was born on, November 1, 1947, in Rugby, Tennessee, the daughter of Earl Edward and Lucy (Bertram) Barnett.
Brenda is a 1965 graduate of Cowan High School and later married the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Giles on April 21, 1972 in Muncie and he survives. She worked for the Muncie Community Schools serving as a Para Professional or Teacher’s Aide from 1976 until 1995. Later she took ministerial classes and became the Youth Pastor for the Full Gospel Temple in Muncie in the early 1990’s, and, after having moved to Indianapolis, she ran the L.I.F.E (Learning In a Fun Environment) Day care Center for many years. Mrs. Giles loved to be with children and was an avid cook as well.
Besides her husband of 44 years, Chuck, she is survived by, one son, Robert Giles (wife-Jane), Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Jessica and Jackson Giles both of Indianapolis; two sisters, Linda Johnson (husband-Jerry) and Betty Brown, both of Muncie; one brother, David Barnett (wife-Barb), Toledo, Ohio; four nieces, Emily, Angie, Heather and Breeanna; three nephews, Dennis, Michael and Mark; several great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
