Brandon R. Atencio, 28, passed away December 11, 2014 in Canon City, Colorado. The son of John and Cheryl (Estep) Atencio, he was born September 14, 1986 in Canon City. Brandon was a life long resident of Canon City who enjoyed riding his dirt bike, hiking, and listening to music. He had a great love for God, his son Dylan, and the rest of his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Brandon is survived by his son, Dylan; mother of his son, Nina Fernandez; his mother, Cheryl (Eric) McDowell; sisters, Crystal Atencio, Tabitha Matchett, and April (Tim) LaMere; and brothers, Max (Katrina) Atencio, Antonio (Leslie) Atencio; Christopher Atencio and Jacob Southern. He is also survived by his grandparents, Kenny McDowell and Irene Atencio; and nieces and nephews, Aaron, Jessie Lee, Ashley, Yevette, Miranda, Makayla, Jerel, Narissa, Kaylee, Arralyn, Roman, Pryce, Preston Taylor, Alexis, Nicole (Abram) Mendoza, and Adelie; uncle James Minks; and numerous others uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John; and grandparents, Charlie and Flossie Estep, and Ralph Atencio.
