Boycie Joe “Boston” Richardson, Sr. was born in Society Hill, Alabama, March 24, 1943, to the late Aaron Richardson and Annie Love. He departed this life on December 15, 2021.
Boycie Sr. was the “baby” of six siblings. He graduated from Spencer High School, the class of 1963 in Columbus, Georgia. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Norfolk and Southern Railway after 32 years of service.
He loved classic cars, playing pool, sports (especially boxing) and listening to music. He had the special gift of keeping an exceptionally well-groomed lawn (the best in Columbus).
He is preceded in death by his son, Boycie J. Richardson, Jr.; grandsons, Boycie Javon “BJ” Richardson and Andre V. “AJ” Richardson; parents, Aaron Richardson and Annie Love; brothers Louis Richardson and Auzzie (Surlema) Love; sisters, Jessie Mae (Sam) Brown, Lillie Bell (Willie) Richardson Freeman and Rosie (Arthur) Bussey.
He leaves to cherish his memory loving wife of 58 years, Juanita; sons, Rickey and Andre (Marquita) Richardson; daughter, Sancha (Lamonte) Young; grandchildren, Tyana, Rico, Derricka, Jasmine, Brooklyn, Elijah and Breia; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
