Bonnie Sue (Carver) Franklin, 83, of Jacksonville, died peacefully, holding her daughter’s hand, August 16, 2022, after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was born the third of twelve children, November 8, 1938, in Foreman, Arkansas, to Luther Carver and Katie Babcock.

Bonnie grew up in a vanished rural Arkansas. Her large family lived in a tiny farmhouse, eating only the food they raised, churning their own butter, drinking from a hand dug well, and picking cotton to earn money for store bought items. Bonnie remained an avid gardener and canner her whole life. As a founding member of what is now the Cross Covenant Church, she was a tireless fundraiser known for making the church’s legendary peanut brittle. A woman of true grit and deep faith, she will be remembered for her compassion and sweet temperament.

She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, three sisters, and her beloved husband of 38 years, George Franklin. She is survived by her two daughters, Georgianna Franklin and Susan Kimbrell, her husband Steve and their son Andrew; three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
