Mrs. Richter died Wednesday at Faith Regional Health Service.
Bonnie was born on February 6, 1948, in Ewing, NE, the daughter of Robert and Helen (Walters) Gilman. She was raised on a farm north of Norfolk, attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School.
She married and had three sons.
Bonnie served as a deputy sheriff for Nance County. She later was the Chief of Police of Polk, NE.
On June 16, 1984, Bonnie married Duane P. Richter in Pilger.
Later, Bonnie drove a semi-truck. She retired in 2010.
Bonnie is survived by her three sons: Ronald Hoferer, Michael Hoferer and Eric Hoferer, all of Norfolk; 4 grandchildren; her mother; three brothers: Robert Gilman, Jack Gilman and Thomas Gilman.
She was preceded in death by her father and husband, Duane.
