Bonnie June Vande Kraats, daughter of John Arie and Betty Lou Van Sant Vande Kraats, was born September 15, 1959 on the family farm two miles north of Pella, Iowa, in Marion County. She lived her whole life on the family farm. She attained the age of fifty-one, passing away on Sunday, August 14, 2011.
Bonnie attended school at Lincoln grade school in Pella, graduated from the eighth grade, attended Pella Community High School in 1975, and received her G.E.D. in 1987. She received her computer training from her friend, Vicki Goemaat.
On December 6, 1980 she united in marriage with Eric Budding. They lived in a mobile home on the family farm for the next twenty-five years. No children were born to this union, only one step-daughter, Jody. Bonnie and Eric were divorced in 2006.
For over twenty-one years, Bonnie was employed at Montezuma Manufacturing Company. Since September 28, 1990 she worked there as an accounting assistant.
Bonnie was diagnosed with cancer at the early age of twenty years, from which she overcame three times in her lifetime. On August 7, 2010 she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Bonnie helped her Dad with the farming in her growing up years.
Preceding her in death are her father, John Vande Kraats, and her step-father, Elvin Van Wyk.
Those left to mourn her loss are: her mother, Betty Van Wyk of Pella; an uncle and two aunts and their families: Gerald and Marilyn Van Sant, Steve, Ron, Dave and Susan; Janice and Sherwood Bouma, Sherwin and Janelle; Milly and Alvin Van Dyke, Ben and Mindy; sister-in-law, Sheila and Ron Helm, Anessa and Mike Loyd, Tabitha and Brad Vos; brothers-in-law, Steve and Carol Budding, Troy and Brant and Stuart and Marilyn Budding; and many other relatives and friends.
