Bonita Jean Carnes, 56, of O’Fallon, Ill., born April 2, 1951 in New Castle, Ind., died Sunday, June 17, 2007 at her residence. Bonnie was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in O’Fallon and Past President of the United States Naval Academy Parents Club of the Greater St. Louis Area.
Bonnie lived her life as a booster of all her families’ endeavors, nurturing her children’s activities, endorsing their accomplishments and supporting her husbands’ naval military career. She was preceded in death by her parents Reuben J. & Mavis I., nee McGrady, Bertsch.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Michael “Mike†Carnes, 3 children; Maggie & David Stevens of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mikaela Carnes of Seattle, Wash., Ensign Brian Carnes of Annapolis, Md., 2 grandchildren; Alison Stevens & Colin Stevens, a sister; Sheryl & Dick Mosier of Indianapolis, Ind., and a brother; Dr. James & Norma Bertsch of Cambridge City, Ind.
