USAF (Ret.) MSgt Bobby Thompson

Retired USAF MSgt Bobby Thompson of Crestview, FL. was called to his
heavenly home on Friday January 21, 2022.
Bobby was born in Shelbiana, KY at his aunt’s home to parents
Predeceased by his loving wife Edna Mae Hall Thompson,
daughter Sharon Thompson, grandson Jason Able, his parents, his
wife’s parents, two sisters Evelyn and Ruth, sister in laws Ida, Dorothy,
Faye and Ginger, brother in laws Billy, Bobby and Jerry.
Raised in the beautiful hills of Pike County, KY upon turning 17 yrs old
he joined the Army infantry November 1945. He transitioned into the
Army Air Corps and finished out his military career in the
United States Air Force until his retirement in 1973.
He was a Korean War Veteran and saw numerous countries during his
He married his beautiful Kentucky bride Edna in 1955 and together they were
able to see the world. They raised 4 children and finally retired back to
Crestview, FL in 1973 as Eglin AFB was their first duty station all those years
ago.
Bobby worked for Fairchild Industries and then Crestview Aerospace until his
civilian retirement.
He is survived by his two sons Wayne Thompson, Rick Thompson and his wife
Sarah and his daughter Debbie McLendon and her husband Clay, sister-in-law Betty Stanley, brother-in-law Curtis Hall and Eddie Taylor, 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
