Bobby Ray Carnes, 84, of Interlachen, passed from this life on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Solaris Health Care Center following an extended illness. A native of Palatka and a life-long resident of Putnam County, he served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. Bobby worked for 32 years in the tissue converting division at Georgia Pacific Paper Mill. An avid Florida Gator fan, Bobby also enjoyed fishing, swimming, playing softball, and going to his grandkids’ sporting events. Bobby was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Eugene Carnes, Doyle “Buddy” Carnes, and Carl Carnes, 3 sisters, Janelle Forshaw, Reba Millhoff, and Betty Nail, and 2 great-grandchildren, Austin Wise, and Junior Blum.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia “Pat” Carnes, a son, Christopher Carnes (Tracey) of Interlachen, a daughter, Cecily Ramey (Ira T.) of Palatka, 6 grandchildren, Bobby Wise, Joseph Wise, Cassidy Carnes, Jacob Carnes, Rebecca Carnes, Rachel Carnes and Kathy Ramey Blum (Rob), 3 great-grandchildren, Alexis Wise, Millie Mae Wise, Larissa Blum as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
