Bobby “Louis” Hurley passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022, at the age of 60. He spent the last weeks of his life at home surrounded by friends and family. Louis was born in Mobile, Alabama on April 4, 1962. He was introduced to cars at a very young age by his father and quickly became immersed in the autobody industry. His fondness for cars led him to the sport of racing, which he participated in for several of his young adult years. He owned and operated Bob’s Body Shop where he took pride in his work and made many friends through the business. Louis was married for 32 years to Kathy Hurley, during which they raised four children together. While his health was compromised, he still managed to work and provide for his family. He always modeled a strong work ethic and an “I can do” attitude. Louis was a member of the Conde Cavaliers Mardi Gras organization for 20 years. He loved to ride in the parades and attend the balls, looking forward to it every year. He enjoyed watching football, particularly the Alabama Crimson Tide and New Orlean Saints. He had a love for animals just like his dad, but especially for dogs. Most of the time he was a man of few words, but given the right topic, would have plenty to say. He had an infectious laugh, that made others do the same and he enjoyed hosting a good time for all. He will be dearly missed by those that knew him and never forgotten by those that loved him. He is preceded in death by his father Bobby Hurley.
He is survived by his mother Carolyn Hurley; his wife Kathy Hurley; his son R.J. Montgomery (Paige); his daughters Leigh White (Gaden), Amy Powell (B.J.), and Cari Waddell (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Cooper, Kinsley, Dawson, Ace, Bryce, Chance, James, Jace, and Caleb.
