Bobby Jones
November 1, 1937 – August 2, 2019
Bobby “Pops” Jones of Jefferson, Arkansas was born November 1, 1937 at Shreveport, Louisiana, the son of the late T.C. Spells and Minnie Womack.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pine Bluff, and was reared and received his early education at Felsrtaugh, Louisiana.
He moved to Pine Bluff in the late 50’s and worked different truck driving jobs before he became lead molder at Independent Aluminum Foundry in White Hall for 25 years. After the business closed down, he became a QC Inspector at Camden Wire for several years. For the past several years, he was the owner of Pop’s Bait Shop in Jefferson at his home. He loved making lead weights and meeting new people and hearing all the fishing and hunting stories.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Remona Johnson and a brother, Billy Joe Spells.
Survivors: daughter, Lisa and husband Michael Bellomy of Sheridan; brother, Virgil Spells of Albany, Louisiana; sister, Wanda McClary of Grand Cane, Louisiana; 3 grandchildren, Joey Johnston, Erick Cody and Candace Poe; 8 great grandchildren, Ayden Lain Poe, Haven Poe, Brantley Cody, Bryson Cody, Gunner Johnston, Cash Johnston, Kati Cannon and Madison Thinpen; 1 great great grandchild, Ryker Armstrong and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
