Bobby Joe Stroud, June 21, 1948 – April 6, 2016.

Bobby Joe Stroud, 67, of Holland passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in a Temple hospital.

Bobby was born on June 21, 1948 in Belton, Texas to William and Edna (Williams) Stroud. He grew up in Holland and was a proud graduate of Holland High School. He attended Temple College for a time before enlisting in the Army in 1966. Mr. Stroud served his country proudly, being deployed to Vietnam for two tours, and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

After leaving the Army in 1969 as a Sargeant, Bobby went to work as an electrician during the construction of Scott and White Hospital, and soon after joined the staff at Scott and White as an electrician, retiring from there in 2005. He married Patricia Mahana on July 25, 1986 in Belton, and they were members at 3C Cowboy Church in Salado. Bobby loved fishing and spending time with his family and friends during his retirement years.

Bobby is survived by his wife Patricia, sons Brian Schrimsher and Donnie Ratliff, daughters Renda Gomez and Donna Etheridge, brothers Wayne Stroud and Jimmy Stroud, sisters Joyce Hart (his twin) and Janice Spinn, five grandchildren, Kyler Gomez, Blaine Newton, Karson Gomez, Karley Gomez, and Katie Garcia, and 2 great grandchildren, Averi and Audri Garcia.
