Bobbie Jean Royster, age 76, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away May 24, 2009 due to complications of pneumonia.
She was born October 11, 1932, in York, South Carolina to Neville and Agnes Currence. She was Methodist by faith. Jean loved her family which always came first. She was a devoted friend to everyone she met. She was a great listener and a strong shoulder to lean on. She loved shopping, fishing, motor home traveling and in early years he loved bowling.
Jean was preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her husband, Claude Royster, Jr. of 57 years; one son, Claude (Skip) Royster III and wife Brenda, one daughter, Amanda Royster-Gillespie and husband, Gary, all of Fort Walton Beach. She has three grandchildren, Lacey Meredith-Wilson and her husband, John; Claude ( Sandy) Royster IV and fiancée, Melinda McGehee, Jessica Royster, and one great-granddaughter, Braedyn Meredith.
She is also survived by two brothers, Buck Currence and wife, Gloria; Ray Currence, and one brother-in-law, Sam Royster many special nieces and nephews, and her many friends, you all know who you are.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Dr. Lee Ettinger and Dr. Gilberto Vigo for the special care they gave to Jean and the devoted nurses in ICU, Progressive Care and CVICU especially her guardian angel, Rhonda of Fort Walton Beach Medial Center.
