Born and raised in Elizabethton, TN, she attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio for two years, before graduating with a B.S. degree at the University of Tennessee in June 1952. Bobbie gave up her “single ladies only” job with Delta to marry Captain Robert “Soupy” Campbell in 1960. She spent the next 20 years being a Air Force homemaker and mother. They had two sons, Scott and Stuart. In 1980, she started driving a school bus for the Okaloosa County Florida school system, retiring in 2002. During this time she also volunteered at the Eglin Air Force Base thrift shop.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Viola Smith of Elizabethton, TN, her sister Evelee Hart of Sun City Center, Fl and her oldest son, Scott of Valrico, Fl. She is survived by her husband Soupy of Shalimar, Fl and son Stuart and wife, Sue and four grandchildren.
