Bobbie Charles Gudka, 82, of Keenesburg, Colorado, died on July 11, 2015 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado. He was born on June 20, 1933 in Apache, Oklahoma to Dub and Arlys N. (Clayton) Gudka. He married his high school sweetheart, Grace Lindsey on June 27, 1952 in Cyril, OK.
Bob started his teaching and coaching career in Sharon, OK in 1952. His career took him to Davenport, OK in 1954 where he was head football and basketball coach, elementary principal and teacher. In 1960 his career took him to Norwood, CO where he coached football, track and was elementary principal and teacher. In 1963 he took a teaching/coaching principal job in Nucla, CO and in 1966 he moved with his family to Center, CO to be the superintendent of schools. In 1973, Bob was named superintendent of schools for RE3J in Keenesburg, CO where he remained until his retirement in 1992. Bob spent 40 years in education.
Bob loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and sharing his time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved every sport and never missed an opportunity to watch or coach his students, children or grandkids. His booming voice was known by every student and parent whose lives he touched.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Grace; his children, Sharon (Steve) Benfort, Karen (Harlan) Else, Mike Gudka, Linda Gudka and Robert (Dawna) Gudka; grandchildren, Casey McPeek, Kevin McPeek, Stephen Gudka, Laura Strzelecki, Ben Copeland, Melyshea Gudka, Erica Gudka, Alan Gudka, Charlie Gudka, Ryan Gudka, BJ Gudka, Chris Gudka and Blake Gudka; great-grandchildren, Gracie Gudka, Preslie and Ace Copeland and Adalynn Lueker.
Preceded in death by his parents Dub and Arlys and son C.W. Gudka.
