Bobbi Owens passed away on May 4th while vacationing at her favorite place on earth’¦the beach on Maui with her favorite person, her husband, John. Bobbi was born October 5th, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Frederick and Melrose Gadbois. Bobbi lived a full and interesting life. She sold real estate, acted in community theater, operated a modeling agency and did commercial make up for film crews. She enjoyed films and live theater. Bobbi always made it a point to see every Oscar nominated movie. She dressed up for the Oscars each year to watch the awards ceremonies with her best friend. Bobbi attended the University of Colorado, Denver in her 50s where she was selected as a Chancellor’s Scholar Leader in her junior year. Having a chance to learn and experience college was a dream come true for her. Her faith was very important to Bobbi. She taught Sunday school for 10 years and was a member of several meditation groups. Family was foremost for Bobbi. She and John were married on May 7th, 1966. They were blessed with two children, Chip and Kristen (David). She had four grandsons. They are Brice, John, Rhett and Evan. Bobbi’s friends remember her as a person of light. A friend described her as a candle in the darkness. She was a graceful woman with great style. She will be terribly missed by her family and friends. We are all richer for having had Bobbi in our lives.
