MUNCIE – Bob M.
After serving in the Army, Bob began a long and successful career in Education. He was a teacher and principal at Harlan H.S., Harlan, In. He then served as assistant superintendent of Allen County Schools; superintendent of Northwest Allen County Schools; and superintendent of Salem Township Schools (Daleville). He then became Director of Facilities Planning & Management at Ball State University, where he retired in 1994. He was named a Distinguished Hoosier at that time.
Bob was a member of the American Association of School Administrators, Association of School Business Officials, Phi Delta Kappa and Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents of which he served in many capacities. He was chairman
of Upper Wabash Valley School Study Council in 1970-71. He served on the Board of Trustees at Earlham College (2002-10) and was active on its sub-committees.
Bob was involved in many civic activities, which included Allen County Mental Health Association, Allen / Wells County American Red Cross Board of Directors, Delaware County Historical Society and Community Foundation of Muncie.
He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and served on its housing board.

Bob is survived by his wife of 58 + years, Gloria, sons Scott (wife Doris) of Parker City, In., Gregg (wife-DeDe) of Fishers, In., Todd of Indianapolis, In. and Jeff (wife-Tricia) of Muncie, and grandchildren Corey, Amanda, Elliott, Robby, and Mary Mantock and Bella Fuller. He will be dearly missed by his family, which also includes nephews Charles (wife-Char) of Ft. Wayne, In., Rick of Muncie and Jim (wife-Lisa) of Richardson, TX., and niece Barbara Lee of Hagerstown, In. His brother-in-law Charles Holloway (wife Barbara) of Tulsa, OK, Larry Holloway, Max Abrell and sister-in-law Linda Abrell and Beth Hayes all of Muncie, will miss his teasing! He loved the enjoyment of being with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Maurice, Norman, Jack and Charles.
