Blasa Zuniga

Blasa Zuniga, age 94, of Harlingen, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022. She was born February 3, 1928, in Mexico to Abran Gamez and Petra Torres. Blasa loved to sing and cook for her family. She always had dinner prepared after a long day’s work in the fields. She also loved gardening and tending to her plants. Blasa was a strong woman of faith and longtime member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. She was a prayer warrior who always kept her family in prayer. She will be dearly missed.
Blasa is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Zuniga Sr.; children, Juanita Zuniga, Jose Zuniga, Margarita Zuniga, Guadalupe Zuniga; and brother, Matias Gamez.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, her loving children, Benito Zuniga (Angelica), Eva Zuniga (Raul), Luis Zuniga Jr. (Hilda), Petra Gutierrez (Hector), and Manuel Zuniga (Norma); 28 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Margarito Zuniga; sister-in-law, Inez Gamez; along with numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
The Zuniga Family sends a heartfelt and very special “Thank You” to her daughter, Eva Zuniga and daughter in law, Alicia Rangel for all their time and special tender loving care You gave to Mom during her illness. You always made sure she was comfortable and well taken cared of. We are eternally grateful for your love.
