SEBRING – Blanche May Hardie McClelland, age 86, of Sebring, Ohio, died at 3:52 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Salem Regional Medical Center, in Salem, Ohio. She was born March 27, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri, the only child of the late John L. Hardie and Blanche (Harriman) Hardie.

Blanche was a 1948 graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri, and received a B.S. in education from University of Central Missouri, in 1952. She married William D. McClelland, on December 6, 1953, after which she retired from teaching to dedicate her life to her family as a homemaker and devoted wife. A person of strong religious faith, Blanche served her church as a choir member throughout her life. She had a robust passion for music, art, animals, birds, and nature.

Survivors include three daughters, Susan (Eric) Nitzberg of San Mateo, California, Mary (John) McClelland-Kerr of Bristow, Virginia, and Molly Nolte of Alliance, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Taylor, Audrey Nolte, Seth Nolte, and Klassina McClelland-Kerr; brother-in-law Ralph (Bud) Younkin, a cousin by marriage, Frankie Marcein Rounsavell of Los Angeles, California, 4 nieces, and 5 nephews.

Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, William D. McClelland.
