Blanche (Cloutier) Glaser

Blanche Glaser, age 86, passed away peacefully in her home Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in Fruita, CO.

Born September 27, 1935 in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Alice & Ulric Cloutier.  She lived in Fall River until she met and eventually married Gilbert Motta in 1953.  They had 2 children there and moved to North Miami Beach, Florida in 1960.  There she worked for a florescent lighting company initially and then later worked for Pritikin Longevity Center as an Admissions Administrator for the residential cardiac rehab program which brought participants from all over the world.  She and Gilbert shared a love of dogs, especially miniature schnauzers and Norwich terriers.  Together they joined the American Kennel Club and the Fort Lauderdale Kennel Club.  They began the dog show circuit for confirmation and put many Championship titles on many of their miniature schnauzers under the kennel name of Celestial.  She also formed a partnership with her good friend to co-own and show Norwich terriers as well.  In 1980, she became a widow when Gilbert unfortunately suddenly passed away.

She then met Murray Glaser and they got married in Aventura, Florida and were happily together until Murray’s death in 2021.

In her younger years, she played on a women’s softball league, consisting of many of the moms of the youth baseball teams in the community.  As mentioned earlier, she loved to travel, and enjoyed many adventurous trips with her daughter and granddaughter, which included camping, hiking, and whitewater rafting, despite the fact that she never learned to swim.  Trips to Las Vegas and NYC were taken often, as she enjoyed Broadway, Las Vegas shows, and conservative gambling for fun.  She loved to play cards throughout her life and would always be asking someone to play with her.  Football, tennis, golf, and figure skating were her favorite sports to watch and would root for her favorites.  Shopping was a favorite pastime of hers and she would be often found shopping for those she loved.  However her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly.

She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a friend to many.  She will be forever in our hearts.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents (Alice & Ulric Cloutier), her husband (Gilbert Motta), her husband (Murray Glaser), her sister (Aline Butler) and her brother (Albert Cloutier).

Blanche is survived by her daughter Debra (Thomas) Tubridy, son Michael (Joanna) Motta, grandchildren Kelli (Mitchell) Hall, Courtney Motta, and Samantha Motta, great grandchildren Ethan, Camryn, Edward, and Elliette.  She is also survived by her sisters Lauretta Mickalak, Jeannette Fontaine, and Doris Francouer.
