Blake Charles Hannah, Jr., age 79, of Hepzibah, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the United Hospital Center. He was a resident of Genesis Healthcare Center in Salem since June.
Known as Charles to most of his friends and family, He was born on May 9, 1934 in Wallace to the late Blake C. Hannah Sr. and Nellie Davisson Hannah Dillie. He attended Victory High School and graduated in 1953.
Blake is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ellen L (Shultz) Hannah; one daughter, Tammy (David) Hamilton, of Clarksburg; one son, Blake (Cynthia) Hannah, of Hepzibah; and a grandson/adopted son, Christopher (Jessica) Hannah, also of Hepzibah. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Keith Wagner, Angela Lee, Brandon Lee, James Hamilton, Blake Hannah, James Hannah; and 7 great-grandchildren. Blake is also survived by his beloved pet Angel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, C.C. Dillie; 3 sisters: Madeline Nobbs, Evestine Purvis and Gail Ann Lapeer; one daughter, Cathy Lee; and a grandson, Patrick Hamilton.
Blake retired from Equitrans Gas Company, where he worked as a Station Engineer for 39 years. He served his Country in the US Army as a Sargent in the Korean War.
