Billye Virginia Olsen Jenkins
Billye Virginia Olsen Jenkins passed away on December 1, 2011, at Valli Hi Angus Ranch, her home for the past 50 years. She was just 85 years young.
Billye was born January 21, 1926, to William and Pearl Olsen in Salt Lake City, Utah (LDS Hospital). Her parents were in the Rambouillet Sheep business, a business known worldwide. She was raised in Mt.
After retiring, Billye spent the rest of her life enjoying her six children: Jennifer J. Christensen, Jessica J. Gooley and Jamie J. Wilson all of Salt Lake City, Utah; Jerilyn J. Briten, William Edward Jenkins and Robert Olsen Jenkins all of Caldwell, Idaho; and, her 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Billye was blessed with good health most of her life.
Billye left behind in her desk a random sheet of ruled paper with these words she wrote earlier in her life:
·Feel the presence of someone who can reach gently into our own lives
·Learning to share things is the heart of life.
·Respect each other’s individuality.
·Friends are always freeing each other for a richer taste of existence – It is only when they make too many claims or try to control each other that they kill friendship with the poison of jealousy and envy. People remain friends by giving each other away rather than clasping each other too tightly – it dies of barter, manipulation and demands but it thrives when people give it away freely.
·It is better to have loved and discovered how hard it is to keep on loving than never to have loved at all.
·Choosing people rather than fame.
·Letting go….
·Tender are feelings. Let me walk my path alone. Say good-bye to me.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jerry; her daughters Jennifer, Jessica (& Bill Gooley), Jerilyn (& Tom Briten) and Jamie; her sons Bill (& Candy) and Bob (& Kelli); her beloved grandchildren Cutler Christensen, Anna Temkin and Lily Christensen; Christopher Gooley, Paige Holland and Sean Gooley; Greg Ferney, Mariah Hopp, Brooke Parent, Ben Briten and Abby Briten; Chelsea DeFriez, Jeremiah Jenkins, Rebecca Daniel, Katie Jenkins and Ethan Jenkins; Kendel Jenkins, Kylee Jenkins and Bo Jenkins; and, Billye Wilson; 18 Great Grandchildren; and, her siblings Carlyle Morris and John K. Olsen, both of Utah.
With much gratitude and love, the entire Jenkins’ family gives thanks to the wonderful ladies who loved and cared for Billye at her home: Amy Elliott, Minela Kostjervac, Billee Peterman and Andrea Castellanoz.
And I soon go to the place of my rest, which is with my Redeemer; for I know that in him I shall rest.
Enos 1:27
